OAKLAND, NJ, OCTOBER 27, 2023 – Topcon Healthcare, a leading provider of medical devices and software solutions including advanced multi-modal imaging, vendor-inclusive data management, and ground-breaking remote diagnostic technology for the global eye care community, announced today that it has surpassed 20,000 units of sale globally of its Maestro Robotic OCT.

Introduced in 2012, the original 3D OCT-1 Maestro was the first of its kind to combine a high-quality OCT and color fundus imaging device with a fully automated capture procedure. The advanced clinical features of the Maestro, including the 3D OCT wide scan and detailed analysis reports, were packaged in an exceptionally easy-to-use instrument with a space-saving design, making it a “game-changer” for the industry and allowing eye care specialists from around the globe to quickly adopt the Maestro into their practice.

In 2016, the Maestro received FDA Clearance in the U.S., and in 2019, the Maestro2 was introduced, which added follow-up scanning and OCT Angiography¹ for certain markets. As the company has surpassed the sale of the 20,000th Maestro OCT globally, the Maestro business model, which optimizes workflow and enhances the patient experience without compromising on clinical utility, has proven to be an enormous success.
